Assumption Mapping
Writing down everything that must be true for an idea to work, then plotting each assumption by how risky it is and how little you know about it. The riskiest, least-known assumptions get tested first, before anything is built.
Example: A founder wants to build a meal-planning app for busy parents. The assumptions include that parents want weekly plans, that they will pay, and that they will enter dietary details. Mapping shows that "will pay" is both critical and unknown, so a landing page with a mock paywall goes up before a single screen is designed.
