Glossary Term
Fractional Product Manager
An experienced product manager who works with a company part-time, usually a few days a week, instead of as a full-time hire. It suits startups that need senior product judgement now but are not ready to hire a head of product.
Example: A seed-stage startup's founders are running product in between fundraising and sales. A fractional PM joins two days a week, sets up discovery and a roadmap, and later helps hire the first full-time PM.
