Never say we will fix the code “later.”
Because later, the “quick hack” becomes the daily grind.
Later, the // TODO comments become permanent tombstones,
And right before your eyes, the market simply leaves you behind.
Never leave the testing for “later.”
Because later, a quick hotfix breaks the design.
Later, the QA team just gives up and accepts the glitches,
And the developer who understood the code? They resign.
You tell the Project Manager we will clean it up “later.”
But when later comes, the sprint is already packed!
Later, a simple task takes three weeks and ten meetings.
Later, the app gets slow, and the cloud bills are stacked.
With time, you finally get used to the legacy spaghetti,
But honestly, working on it is a depressing display.
When the Product Manager looks at the backlog, only regret remains,
Because later… nobody remembers why the system was built this way.
So write clean code, and do it right today.
Because later, it is always too late to make it right.
Later, the technical debt finally takes its toll,
Later… the server crashes on a Friday night.
