Pivot
A deliberate change to one core part of a startup's strategy, such as the customer, the problem or the business model, while keeping what has been learned. Unlike drifting, a pivot is one decision based on evidence, with a new hypothesis to test.
Example: A startup builds an HR tool for small companies and struggles to sell it. In interviews, agency recruiters keep asking about one part of it, the candidate pipeline view. The team pivots to selling that view to recruitment agencies: same core code, new customer, new problem.
